Metal clanking sound
Metal clanking sound
Hey guys I am bringing the car into the dealership next week but I am getting impatient and worried, want to see if anyone has had this happen before. From a stop or when driving slowly, making a right turn there is a sound of like metal clanking from my left wheel well area. My friend looked while I drove and said my rim was not rubbing. He actuially mentioned that it is a brake indicator that my brakes needed to be replaced. ANd another one of my friends said his G was making the same noise in the rear when he needed to change his brakes. I checked the TSB and all it gave a diagnostic for was the rear axle, but the sound is not comming from the rear.
SO anyone have any insight?

Its the control arms in the suspension... extremely common in the first gen g's. Dirt and grime get in the joint and causes the noise. I had them replaced in my old 05 g35x at about 22,000 miles. I had the same EXACT noise at the same time you are hearing.
