Used to happen to me, until I started getting into the habbit of closely watching where the buckle goes... I sorta flung the belt off of me once and it hit the glass and marked my tint

 

Sealtbelt retractors can cause error codes????

Happens to me sometimes. It's a design issue, but not necessarily a flaw. If Nissan made the retractor stronger, then the belt would cut into your neck when driving. They would get many more complaints about that than a dangling seatbelt.

 

yeah but the metal end is nicking, and marring my door panel, looks pretty nasty if you know where its at
