Have you done all of the required stuff by the stealership ie: new belts, coolant/radiator flush, tranny. rear diff fluids, new spark plugs and so on and so fourth? Also is your car auto or manual?

All of the above, plus a flush of the power steering and brake system.

I have not had to do anything on my G. It has a bit over 100K on it and is running fine. New belts are high on my list of things to do, as well a replacing plugs and fluids. Clutch still holds strong so no need to replace that yet.

Well if it is running great then just do the change of the fluids and you should be okay. By the way what year is your G?

100k miles, I would try to get to all the major items, plugs, belts, and fluids. Doing these things will not only help keep the car running well, but also prevent something expensive from failing.

Don't forget the battery. Its easy to forget until you can't start your car.

why so shocked? if driven properly a stock clutch should last you almost the life of the vehicle.
