Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

I just got my 350z CF cover that I got from ebay. I like the 350z cover better then the G. The quality of the cover is pretty good for $80.

thats pretty cool, but j/w how much weight difference between the stock cover? i guess 80 bucks is really cheap, but IMO u could've used it for 160 cheeseburgers

Re: Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

Yeah i got this cover too, i like it a lot!
I am planning on getting my plenum polished to make it shine like crazy!

I am eventually going with Nitrous so i can't get the Crawford plenum... it causes any forced induction to run scarily lean, and would do the same for nitrous!

Yea but do you want to spend $300 on the full cover or $80 for just the half?

Re: Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

I've already spent that much $ on the G, I'll either keep the original plastic cover or save up til I have enough for the FULL Carbon Fiber, but I know I will not buy just the HALF mask to make myself look like a fool (sorry... i dont mean to offense anyone, but parts for 350Z just shouldn't be on the G)
After all, would you put on the rims thats coming off the 350Z on your G ? Com'on~

Anyways... again.. that's my opinion

Re: Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

It doesn't say anything on the cover about nissan or the 350z... it is made for the vq35de engine... which we both share!
It makes the engine compartment look nicer especially if you have removed the g35 intake...
It also alows the plenum to remain cooler... and keeps the air cooler thus!
Plus it looks hotter!!!! than some big lunky cover.

Re: Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

Totally agreed w/ you~! I guess I should've thought of that when I purchased the G, instead I might saved some $$$$ if I go w/ the Z rite? HAHAHA

After all, they're the same engine rite ? =P HAHAHA

And I wonder why even the stock plastic covers for G35/350Z look different to begin with? After all, THEY ARE THE SAME ENGINE!

Re: Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

grow up its all aesthetics...
The Z is supposed to be sportier thus small cover exposing the plenum
The G is supposed to be more luxurius thus the larger designer styled cover

For us that have some sort of aftermarket air intake... the g cover, and the carbon g cover don't look right at all... stupid to buy it! There is a hole where the resonator would have been!

And yes bro, the Z and Gc are almost exactly the same in parts, the G weighs more though and is longer for more ammentities and 2 extra seats... think b4 speak!

Re: Carbon fiber 350z engine cover

Whats even funnier is that most all the aftermarket parts for the G, originated from the Z in one way or form. I just don't get the statement you're making here.

It's one thing not to like the half carbon fiber engine cover, but to say you cant put that on the G because its the Z's design is just ignorant.

The part in question is also not tagged for either or car, its designed for the engine BOTH cars share, so it will work on either or. Its a cosmetic enhancement, that's all. Some will love it, others will hate, that's how it works - PERSONAL PREFERENCE!

So hey you better not pick up and install a set of springs, coil overs, sway bars, rims, intake, electronics, shifter, and pedals that they have out for the G, because the parts might be compatiable with the Z, or may have been tweaked from a Z based design and god forbid that should ever happen and end up on G....

Gotta love these newbies who flame post with their two cents that make NO SENSE!
