Coupe at 1,600 RPM

Living in NJ, I've gotten used to sitting in traffic on the turnpike and local roads. And what's better than reving the engine at 1,600 RPMs. Even traffic doesn't bother me! The exhaust note at 1,600 (or around there) is awesome. And it was over 55 degrees outside, so I had fun with my windows rolled down. And once the traffic opens up, vroom-vroom, I enjoy reving it to 4,000 RPM . I love the sound so much, that I can't even listen to music. I am sure everyone knows what it sounds like at 4,000, but has anyone noticed the sweet tone at 1,600?

Re: Coupe at 1,600 RPM

I'm in south Jersey to..Almost like spring time...
yesterday I was able to wash/ wax and detail my car!!!
pretty cool considering its Dec....
I figure we probably won't be this lucky for a long time to come
You are right....can't beat the sound of this car with the windows down...I'm impressed with this car entirely...I flash back to my early days when I had a big block corvette with side exhausts....(they were illegal for a long time in Jersey), but what a sound that car had...no choice of listening to the radio....if you drove it long enough you'd lose a few fillings!
thats what makes these kind of cars so much fun...20ld4this

Re: Coupe at 1,600 RPM

I agree, parking garages are awesome. I've never noticed the tone going 1,600 RPM in the garage. I have to try it some day.
Studly, at this rate, your car won't be broken in until next Christmas . Just take it to work a few times a week, and get the break in over with. It's an awesome feeling to see that niddle go from 4,000 to 6,000 in a split second. I don't do it too often though .

Re: Coupe at 1,600 RPM

My nephew actually asked to see what it sounds like at 6,000 rpm. So, I took the G to a dead street, and made sure there were no cars around (I am very careful with my nephew in the car). After that, I put it in a manumatic, rolled the window down, and gunned it. The first shift was perfect at 6,200 RPM. Second one was lower, since I already started to take my foot of the gas pedal. I slowed down once I reached about 60MPH. My nephew's response was, "Wow, it sounds like a Ferrari!" He plays the Project Gotham game on the XBOX, and he was impressed with how it sounded. Then I went back to a steady 1,600. He loves going through the neighborhood at 1,600 , and now he knows what it sounds like at > 6,000.
