Bad problem tonight

I started my car and the Engine Service, Slip, and VDC Off lights stayed on. Started driving and could not accelerate or even hit 30 mph after the car was fully warmed up. I made it home but would appreciate any input or advice about this problem.

Re: Bad problem tonight

I am by far no expert on cars but this info my help others figure it out too...

Temp outside
Time car was sitting there
modifications done to car
last fluids check...

Try unplugging the battery and letting it sit overnight... (negative terminal) This will reset some things, might help...

Merry Christmas!

I agree, try a ECU reset. Unplug the negative battery terminal and let sit for 12 hrs. Then see what happens when she wakes up. Good luck and have a happy holiday.

Re: Bad problem tonight

Sounds like the 'brake switch'. There is a TSB and some info in the TSB Board. The dealer will fix w/o a problem. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Andrew, We Miss and Love You! Peace!

Re: Bad problem tonight

Merlin,
Exactly correct, it was the brake switch. The service advisor at the dealer said that the car went into fail safe mode. I strongly recommend that anyone who hasn't had this fixed do so ASAP. It was not fun driving with my three year old daughter in a car that can't accelerate or even hit 30 mph.

Thanks for the tip,
Ray
