Re: Pic of painted engine cover.

Thanks guys I taped off the V6 and I removed the Infiniti emblem using a hair dryer to heat it up from underneath and wedged a small knife under the lip of it and worked it off.

Re: Pic of painted engine cover.

Wow....that looks vaguely familiar...lol. Good Job. Here's a little hint: buy a silver (or black) sharpie permanent marker and color in your battery lettering. It adds a nice touch. I painted this over 5 months ago and it still looks like this today ( just snapped it a few minutes ago).

Re: Pic of painted engine cover.

Lol, how ya doin DoinOK... A Sharpie? no kidding huh?...Cool... I might try that in red to match the V6 on the engine cover, Then throw a coat of clear coat over it again to give the sharpie a shine to it. Great idea, thanks... I need to re-do all of my hoses in red and blue next as well.

Re: Pic of painted engine cover.

Thanks TuPaK
I started it on Tuesday night, took everything off and brought it into my kitchen to try to avoid dust as much as I could. Got the paint from Checker, I used Dupli color primer, paint, and clearcoat. Used masking tape to tape all areas off and shot it a couple times then finished with the clear coat. I just finished the remaining gromets today, I still have a couple more to do that I missed tho.
Thanks again bro.

Re: Pic of painted engine cover.

is that just spray paint in a can? or did you use an airbrush/spray gun thingy?

I've been wanting to paint my engine stuff for some time now, but I'm having a hard time deciding on the colour. mostly because I have a white coupe... it might look kinda funny if I paint all my stuff white. also I have a red grounding kit and looking at some red semco hoses and the poished injen intake.

Re: Pic of painted engine cover.

Oh man, A nice pearl white with a clearcoat, a red 7 wire grounding kit, red hoses and connectors, a Injen polished CAI with red accents, and I cant figure between red grommets or white. All against the white of the body in the engine bay.... Man that would look HOT HOT HOT!!! I'd love to get my hands on that set up. That would look real good IMO...
