Matching Paint

I have a 05 liquid platinum(silver) coupe. When I bought the car last week I never notice the paint difference from the front right panel to the passenger door. Nobody noticed it. Well my girlfriend noticed it when the car was far away. Now i can't walk up to my car without noticing it. Dam girlfriend, wish she hadn't told me. I test everyone that looks at my car and nobody can tell. I can tell and I'm thinking about doing a paint blend from the door to the panel. I have heard its hard to match the IP paint, but not sure about the silver. Should I have the panel painted to match and hope the shop can match it or do the paint blend?

No accidents that I know of. Carfax was clean and it rides really smooth. So blending the paint you think. The rear bumper is a shade off too, but I have noticed a lot of coupes with some variation in the paint from bumper to the painted metal.

I have the same problem, I cant stop thinking about it constantly. Let me know what they charge for a blend.

My buddy works at a gmc dealer so I should get the hook up, but I'll let you know what they charge. Hopefully not too much.

i feel you man... do the best you can. My side panels are a different shade as well and on sunny days it pisses me off cause you can notice it even more.

You will have to do a blend. I got rear-ended and had to replace my rear bumper. I have a friend that owns a body shop and he had to paint the bumper 3 times to get a good match with the DP color, and it is still a little off in certain light conditions. As soon as I have the time to leave him the car, he is going to do a blend so it won't be noticable at all. The paint colors for all of the Infiniti "platinum" colors include a metalic flip AND a pearl component. The ratios for both have to be exact or you will get color variations depending on the light angle. My friend prides himself on being able to match ANY color and said that my DP G was the hardest match he has attempted.

i think its a factory problem on the lp's and bs's. high metallics have a tendancy to have a lot of "flop" if pressure, angle and distance of the paint gun is not kept the same over different panels. rear quarters sometimes look darker on my g.
