Arghh! I know what that's like. I avoid sprinklers whenever possible. MAN, I hat those things!

I used live with a buddy at his condo a few years back and there was nowhere you could park in the complex without getting "spinkler-ized" like a **** every single day.

I wrote so many letters to the complex and they didn't do a damn thing about it. I took matters into my own hands, and removed offending sprinkler heads, and sealed the piping at least once a week. It was so funny to see the gardeners digging up the piping and replacing/fixing the sprinkler heads just so I could take them out again.

I even told the complex IN WRITING that I would destroy the spinkler system if they did not fix it. The place was joke with spinklers going off for about 9 or 10 hours a day.

Time to get out some tools buddy!

 

On private property, you really can't do anything.. It's the property owner's prerogative. You can try and see if they're watering on banned days, during prohibited hours and report them for that, if nothing else - then, maybe they'll listen.

If it's adjacent to the road, pressure your city council to enact a water wastage bill. Watering the street creates a hazard, wastes water and ticks people off - who would argue against it (especially in drought-prone areas)?

The city I live in has a water waste law - if some sloppy property owner waters the street routinely, they get slapped with a fix-it ticket, then the fines start piling up. It's free money for the city, all you have to do is call and report it - they fix it real quick when local govt starts fining them.

Just thinking of ways to armtwist stubborn people..
