Nervous

It's almost that time and I'm starting to get nervous! My 6MT is supposed to be in on January 16th, and I feel totally unprepared. I haven't gotten any insurance quotes, and I haven't applied for any financing yet. I was under the impression that I was supposed to wait until the car was actually at the dealership before I started the ball rolling on these items. Does that make sense? I just really hope I get a good interest rate...I am REALLY not looking forward to like 10% for 5 years

Im having the dealer install the 3M clear bra prior to me picking it up, but is there anything else I should get/request prior to "finalizing" the deal? Help!

Re: Nervous

You should start tomorrow. At the very least the insurance. Financing is usually good for 30 days.

Re: Nervous

Get an insurance quote now. As for financing, if you want to shop around apply for one on Eloan (and/or other sources) a week before the car come in. Eloan takes like an hour to approve the loan(assuming you have good credit records). The dealer will likely beat their rate, in which case you should just finance through the dealer. If not, Eloan seem to have very good rates. I was going to use Eloan until the dealership gave me a better rate (I think it was like 3.5%).
Enjoy the G!

Re: Nervous

Infiniti beat any Financing APR that I had looked into. I already had car insurance and the dealer called them up when I took delivery. My insurance faxed the dealer a copy of my new insurance card for me to carry. I got the real one in the mail a couple days later. I did everything in one day without any problems.

Re: Nervous

Also, when you apply for financing, it should be within 30 days of your purschase. As you know, everytime you apply for credit, financing, etc, your credit score get lower. If you pull 2 or more credit reports within 30 days, it only count as 1 credit pull instead of two.

Re: Nervous

I called my insurance company after I bought the car. The dealer just nicely told me "we don't sell insurance or extended warranty here so you need to do that on your own". Nothing to worry about, just who gives you the best rate.

Re: Nervous

Lol...I checked insurance rates before I even decided on the car....since it's part of the overall cost of the car it factored into my decision (I was sold on the car anyways). You should be pleasantly surprised, my insurance (state farm) went down since the g has so many safety features.
As for financing get started now...I'm getting my car when you are and I just got approved from eloan last night. It was quick and easy but you have to wait 3-10 days for the check to get in unless you pay to overnight it. Also, depending on the terms you want the pentagon federal credit union might be your best bet since they have 60 mo@3.49%. You have to be a member and if you don't qualify you have to sign up for some military family assistance organization so if that's the path you want to take I would begin now.
You could try the dealer too but I'm more comfortable at least being prepared before I do that.
