thats correct. but how practical would it be to buy those parts when you could get more HP from aftermarket parts ?

some of the parts may not be manufactured aftermarket and would benefit the G37.

so yes the GTR parts could would/will fit in the G37, its still an engine build though for the turbos.

The difference between the two is that the 335 was built with the purpose of being twin turbo. Although the GTR will be using the same motor as the G37, I am pretty sure it will have lower compression pistons and stronger rods to support the turbo application.

As we all know adding twins to our cars will set you back a pretty penny especially if you want to do it right. So cost wise it would be better to mod the 335 mainly because it would cost a whole lot less. The same goes for the reason why poeple buy the EVO and the STI and even the GTI and SRT-4.
Cheaper to mod and big power gains with simple bolt-ons.

(plese bear in mind i still favor the 335i route)

but considering the costs....

1 335i vs 1 g37

figure on a rough 10k variance from g37 to 335i.
so theres 10k right out off the bat.
then figure 2k+500 for the LSD & install to make things relatively even.
total 12500 difference

twin turbo setup with intercooler will run around 8k ? tach on some gauges and Engine management your around 11k... now we need to have tuning 500-1000 more and we're still less then the 335i... however here's the bad part... who the hell spending 12k on a turbo setup would run on stock internals and expect their car to last (key word last). Nobody would except if they intend to rebuild their engine when it happens... now from what i've heard engine rebuilds can run 5-10k on avg with higher quality parts.
so when its all said and done... around 20k to boost the g37 safely and this would allow 500+ safe HP.

compared to the 335i 300 HP unless modded for 1k then around 360hp ish.

**For me** I like the reliability that comes with a manufacture that makes a turbo configuration. the computer, sensors etc all work together without throwing occassional trouble codes.

now we'll have a couple guys hop on say their modded TT G35's have never thrown a trouble code... and this may be true. but the law of averages says this is rare.

just to clarify if im wishy washy... i would buy a g37 if it had a factory turbo... but would refrain from aftermarket due to the complexity.

u gotta be kidding me, a regular porsche boxster can spank a camry any time, and the new boxster S can even walk the g35

anyway, gl w/ purchasing ur new ride, to be honest with you, i think the new g37 is not looking good as the old g35. so im gonna keep mine and im gonna get the new m3
+1 for G35 looks cooler than G37. I would consider the G37 if it does look like that concept version. The production G37 isn't not the same, I rather keep my 04 coupe!!

The G37 is a much better buy than 335I
-Nicer Interior
-Nicer Gauge Cluster
-LSD
-Bigger Brakes
-Better Gas Mileage
-More reliable

Well, I owned the G Coupe for close to 5 years now so I've been looking for a replacement.

I am considering trading in my G35C for a G37, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to spend $20+k for something that seems to be about 10%-15% better. (Interior, performance, structural rigidity)

Considering all things it makes more sense to keep the G35 Coupe and use the $20k to buy another toy to play with.

I am in the same boat but I refuse to go form my G35 to a G37, I like the look much better of my current coupe.

On the other hand I really really like the Audi A5 coming out. To date that is the only car that may get me to sell off the coupe. I am waiting to see one in person though.

I still like the 335 with a nice body kit over the G37.

I'm in love with the S5....

"When it hits North American shores next fall, the FSI 4.2 will be mated solely with a manual six-speed gearbox and priced in the $50K range. It’ll be followed in early 2008 with a six-speed Tiptronic. Likely, there will be a seven-speed DSG, but not until 2010 at best."

So Hott!!!!

I was in the same boat waiting for a G37. But I've pretty much decided to go with the 335i. The BMW may be a few $k more than the G. But it makes up most of that in resale value when it's time to sell. So in the long term, cost is a wash. I am not too worried about maintenance cost since BMW includes maintenance while the car is under warranty. Performance wise, turbo vs NA, no contest.

i went onto the supra forums and looked at the 08 supra v8 (~450 hp). those guys say the same thing about the the new model that a lot of guys here say about the g37 coupe. they complain that its too luxo-sport. for me though, if toyota/lexus puts out a fast/dependable supra, i'm afraid i'll have to go that way.

You see BMWs everywhere.
It's not an "exclusive" car anymore.

I hardly see G Coupes.
