How low does needle on gas meter go..

I usually fill it up when it hits here

But how low can the needle go before car runs out of gas? Also as you see im getn low gas mileage, the most i get is 270-290, and i do drive carefully. I dont know what to do...

from the point your light comes on, i'd say you have almost 50 mi left. Fill up and see how much you fill up, subtract that from 20, and multiply by your avg mpg. then i'd guess that you have about that many miles left minus 10-15, but that's pushing it.

I have an 03 with navi, so it tells me how many miles are "left" according to the computer even after the e light has been on for 20 or so miles. Knowing the g coupe has a 20 gallon tank (probably not exactly) but I have driven it down to where I filled up 19 full gallons instead of the normal 16.5 when the e light first comes on.

That is usually the lowest I will allow it to go... I have a 4-runner and I have had it way below that line.. Of course I am usally coasting into the gas station at that point.

Running this low on fuel strains the fuel pump; do it too often and you will be replacing it later...

It goes all the way to the letter E, the same needle position when the car is turned off. Might be different for everyone, but on mine I will fill up just a tad below the last dash and often it will only fill up to 16.. rarely 17.

i dont trust fuel economy on this car so i never let it light up. also waiting this long will get all the gunk from the tank to your engine. since you're going to fill it up anyway dont wait this late

How low can you go.........?

With either of my cars I try not to go below 1/4 tank. My wife's Vet holds
18 gals. and at just below 1/4 it's taken 18.4 gals........I hate having to
walk!

the light comes on you have 3 gallons left in reserve...letting it drain like that can put strain on the fuel pump causing it to fail

Golly ,, I can get my 400+ miles on my '06 AT Coupe before that light comes on. Almost always see the needle at halfway and the odometer says 200 to 220 miles.

If all I got was 290 to a tankful I'd be thinking of what could be causing it

Good luck GEVO
