seat warmer buttons on coupe

was using them and noticed the light on the switch only is illuminated on low heat. when i switch to high heat, the low still stays lit. this is on both left and right.

is this normal
why would there appear to be a light for high

Re: seat warmer buttons on coupe

The light is only on the low side. There is a small low mark on the switch and a larger mark on the high side, the light is just above the low mark. This is how it should work.

It does work, high and low but there is only one light indicating that it is turned on.

Re: seat warmer buttons on coupe

Im used to heated seats that actually get warm. These should actually be called "low" and "lower".

Mine get pretty warm...if I have it with windpants on, it can get uncomfortably hot.

Re: seat warmer buttons on coupe

For some reason, I've noticed that mine don't get as hot, until the car starts moving. If I'm sitting at a light, I hardly notice it is on, but then once I get up to hwy speeds, they start cooking.

Re: seat warmer buttons on coupe

I've actually noticed the same thing--- when the car is moving, the seats seem to be warmer. Go figure.....
I can turn the car on and the seat warmers on, and they don't get very warm very quickly, but then start driving and they warm nicely.... strange but true.
Maybe we've got 'SCH' (speed sensitive control heat) -- similar to our SCV on our radio. .. J/K
I like my seat warmers, I wouldn't be without them up here in 'The Trundra'. Only improvement I'd make to my ride is to add a steering wheel heater like I had in my Max.

TSB for seat warmer

If yours isn't working, you may have a 2003 coupe that needed the seat warmer wiring harness changed according to the TSB from Infiniti. I had that done with my first maintenance a while back. Some coupes had the wiring reversed so that the Left button controlled the Right seat and vice-versa.

Re: seat warmer buttons on coupe

Yea but the same holds true with the heat no? The heat really doesn't kick in when ur stationary. When ur driving though then you feel the heat blasting. Anyway thats what I have noticed

Re: TSB for seat warmer

Dr Jim, Thanks for the heads-up on the TSB. I do remember it and checked mine at that time to discover that they work as they should. They're just a little slow to heat, and seem to be tied more to vehicle speed than time.
I'm reasonably comfortable (pun intended) with the way they are-- I don't really want them to heat up more than they do, tho a little quicker would be welcomed.
I'll have to talk to my dealer about a possible mod.
