my clear corners were stolen - Retarded or not retarded?
So I was enjoying a movie with the wife tonight... And I came back to my car to discover my clear-corners were stolen
So anyways, I had a thought while I was trying to calm down afterwards.... Since I have a 139 decibal air horn installed in my car, (a 45 magnum is 140 decibels according to the instructions), I was curious if you guys think it would be retarded if I wired a clip to my clear-corners, and connected it to my alarm, so that if anyone attempted to remove my clear corners when the alarm is armed, everyone in 3 city blocks will hear my alarm going off?
You think that would cause the bastards to drop what they're doing and run, or make them want to hook me up even more?

Vandals may create much more damage to ones' car if the clear corners are secured with an adhesive of sorts. If someone was inclined to remove my clear corners, I would want the said to easily removed without any issues. The last thing I would want is some jerk taking a screwdriver or the like to remove a pair of clear corners.

I found the simplest (and rather cheap) way of protecting the clear-corners... Use a magnetic reed switch. It's about the size of a diode. If you get a NC (Normally Closed) variety, it will "open" when in close proximity to a magnetic field. (This is the same type of switch that is used in door/window sensors).
I found them online and locally for less than a dollar each. Anyways, you can glue a small magnet to the back of the clear corner, and glue the reed-switch to the underside of the bumperskin. (Magnetic fields go through plastic). Run one end of the reed-switch to ground, the other to the factory alarm, spliced in where the hood-switch goes to.
Then when your alarm is armed, and someone yanks your clear-corners, the reed-switch will close, and your alarm will trigger.
(I haven't actually done all this yet, but I'm 99.99% sure this will work)

yeah, shlt like that happends.. my amber corner were stolen and the punk also ripped out my harness. wasn't a pretty sight.
i wouldn't glue the corners to the paint.. that would make it harder to change the blub if it were to go out. and if someoone wants ur corners, no glue will stop it from happening..
