Re: Had run-in with 330i today

i think your database is wrong...
non per. pkg will run mid 6s for 0-60 and mid to high 14s in 1/4mile(around 14.7 w/03 tls) with 6spd and AT is even worse... G35 will beat non per pkg easily(not by a lot though around 3carlengths).. and the numbers you stats are the WITH performance pkg... with per pkg 330i will run high 5 to low 6s and around 14.4 1/4mile...

Re: Had run-in with 330i today

I have to refain from saying what I think in this post b/c we're supposed to be nice. I had a 330 and spend a lot of $$ upgrading it to what I thought was a pretty quick car. If it's stock then it's NOT as fast as the G. It's a great car but apples to apples the G is got more going for it. I'm not being baised. I'm still a member of BMWCCA. : )
Edited by cliverman on 01/15/04 06:59 PM.

sounds like bs story to me. the 330cis arent that slow that you killed him by 10 cars and caught up and passed him when he was 8 cars ahead. ask me how i know?my sister has a 330ci.I'm sure the g is faster, but not as fast as you make believe story makes it out to be.

Re: Had run-in with 330i today

This might be my 3rd time posting about this but here is the story again. My friend with his G35coupe 6MT had a run with 330 performance package on the freeway. They raced from 60 or 70 till 130 or something. They were dead even till 110 or something like that but the coupe pulled away after 110. And i was actually very surprised how he kept up that well.

We had 3 people in the car they also had 3 people.

Re: Had run-in with 330i today

Bottom line, comparably equip 330Ci cost 4K more than G-coupe so they are suppose to kick *** but our better looking G-coupe cost less and are "faster" than 330Ci, then we are the clear winner.

CONCLUSION: G-COUPE COST LESS AND ARE FASTER.
WINNER: G-COUPE

ITS THAT EASY. A NO BRAINER. I DON'T CARE WHAT BMW LOVERS SAY, NOW THIS IS COMMING FROM A PREVIOUS BMW OWNER.

AGAIN, G-COUPE IS THE WINNER.

if a wrx took you by 20 car lengths, there is something wrong with you car, or you probably took off after he was 15 cars ahead...lmao

wow, it's turning into one of those 330 bashing threads. Common, just give this guy credit, and let's move on. We don't have to prove to anyone which car is better. Just enjoy yours .
As far as the guy who raced a 330, with three guys in the car, that was dangerous. 3 cars in the 330 and 3 guys in the coupe, could have ended up in a disaster. I just hope you guys picked a clean place to race.

FYI the G35 sedan was tested by Motor Week to hit 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec. also.

Re: Had run-in with 330i today

It was just an random race he was cruising on the open freeway at 1am so it just happened. It was not a planned race at all. He just happened to be there. We were the only two cars on the freeway.

Thank u for ur concern though
