crap.
I just read my owners manual and there wasn't anything in there about using premium below a certain price and plus or regular above that price. It said use 91 octane.

What about BP premium?

I normally use only V-power but i was running out of gas and i go with BP. Do they cause gunky build-up too?

Let's see..how do I comment. If you have $$$ F it buy the most expensive gas out there. If you DO NOT have $$$ buy what the $$$$ can get you. When your car has problems and an Brilliant Scientist Guru Mechananic told you it's because the Brand/Grade of the gas you put it is what killed you car; then you know if you really need be filthy $$$$ in your pocket to be owning and driving this car. So which Gas to put in...I know what I need to put. Decision is to oneself.

10.3:1 CR....is on the higher end of the avg compression ratio. Keep in mind i stated that it does not make as big a difference as ppl say it does. You will not get any knocking or pinging b/c you put plus rather than premium in ur tank. When gas prices were close to 3.50 for premium i used plus for a whole month w/o any considerable difference. Premium is better than Plus...YES, u don't need much to figure that one out....but is it such a huge difference...NO. So the decision is up to Drevil....use either one. I still use premium when i can, b/c even a small benefit is better than none...but if gas prices reach Cali prices...i'll be hitting that plus before you can say "toluene."

So lets say it makes a 1% difference, that equates to 3hp, so $2 can buy you 3hp, thats the cheapest hp you are going to get. An exhaust that costs $700+ might get you 5-10hp, thats enough of a difference for me, why are you on an enthusiast site if perfomance isn't a concern? Thats assuming the difference is only 1%, I've seen number closer to 5% so you could lose as much as 15hp so save a whopping $100 a year.

LOL at this thread. Why wouldn't you run premium, like some people have said it's not that much more expensive.

like I said "financing payments" that would mean you DO plan on keeping it but your making payments. Im basically saying that you're leaving outside your means if you have to make payments on a lambo...theyd be through the roof. I could see leasing one but never making payments.

higher octane gas does not have more detergents in it so it won't "clean the engine out" any more than the 93

Since the manual says 91 octane, I may go 93 one tank and 89 the next. I've only filled mine up once as I got it 2 weeks ago. I put 93 in it then.
