Motorized Navigation Problem

I drive a 05 auto G35 coupe, love the car cant really complain besides the issue iv been having with the Navigation. It seem slike when the car is parked outside in the sun, the navi dosnt turn on. It comes up and theres a black screen, and then goes back down. sometimes even after the cars been sitting in the garage after its been outside, and i take it our hours later the dam navi is still not working. Cant figure out whats the issue. Pull the cd in and out. there nothing else i can do. I took it to the dealer, dealer said he fixed it..meaning he didnt do ****. and so the problem continues. i wonder how many other people are experiencing this. aka the reason why i say in the heat is becuase i live in Toronto, and during the winter it works fine. any help would be appreciated. im thinkin of recording a video using my camera phone and showing infiniti. ill post it next time it happens.

does it come up all the way or just part of the way?

I had a problem with the motor on mine. it wouldn't go up all the way and would just go back down. brought it into the dealer and they replaced the motor...

I've had a similar problem with the navi in another car. It doesn't remain in-operatlbe hours after the car has been moving though.

Good luck!

I knwo this is an old thread but my nav started doing this same thing....only when it's hot outside. If the car is sitting in the sun all day, I have the same issue with my nav. but within 5-10 minutes of driving around and everything in the cabin is nice and cool again, the nav will stay "up" and turn on.

Very wierd.

Haha........I did join back in 2003, didn't I. Funny thing was, I was really excited about the G35 at the time and was researching them before I made my purchase, but ended up buying a used 1999 Mercedes E320 instead.........2 years later, I finally bought my 2005 G35.

....and yup.......I'm in Vero Beach, but I was still living in Miami in 1998. I grew up in Vero though. Flight Safety has always run a good program.

Any news on fixing the Nav motor? Mine always acts up during the summer time. Goes half way up then gets stuck. Won't go all the way up. Have to force down then restart the car to get it to work. Stupid good idea nav screen.

Thanks...

I have the same problem. I found a TSB, on www.ifinitihelp.com. Here's the link. http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...d&pp=12&page=4
There is a fix. The part Motor Assy. Display. price is 331.00. + tax. From my local dealership Infiniti of Fairfield.

my nav has been squeaky sounding for about a year now as it motorizes up and down. I wonder if its related to the other issue.
