y don't you call ur insurance company. when my integra window was smashed, my insurance said, "sure, they will pay for it, but I had to pay my $500 comprehension deductible. Which is the exact amount the dealership charges for the driverside window replacement.

i said, F that, went to a junk yard, bought a window in perfect condition for 80 bucks and paid some mobile guy 70 bucks + 30 tip for doing a good job.

total cost: 180.... > 500

I had the same thing happen to me two weeks after i bought my 03 G. Looked like a bullet hole right under the right wiper. In NJ, insurance companies do not replace unless you pay the $500 deductible. I paid $70 and they injected some sort of resin into the crack and it is almost invisible now after 4 years.

How big's the crack and where is it located? I got a dime size crack right behind the rear view mirror. Since I don't see it, I had it patched up for $20 using clear resin. Screw going with a factory windshield. They're a POS that cracks with the slightest tap. Go with safelite.com and get it replace for about $220. They even offer mobile service.

I just got my first chip the other week and was upset....I used this stuff from the autoparts store called liquid glass that I used many years ago and it fills the chip in before it starts cracking..works very well, but if you already have lines going through it...guess it has to be replaced...everything cost money....it sucks..

yeah, thats the normal price for a aftermarket windshield install. but for a G35, i would go with OEM. It's not a 1990 honda civic.
