cheaper this way?

i was just curious and, unless i won the lottery, i wouldn't even consider this, but:
would it be cheaper to have rare JDM parts bought in U.S. & shipped over to U.S. OR to ship over g35 to Japan and buy parts locally and install there?

just a question

err.. whoops.
yeah, i meant that the ordering of Japanese parts is done in the U.S. and then those JDM parts are subsequently shipped over.

I was in japan over the summer and seriously considered buying a 2002 silvia S15, the main problem was insurance but to ship the car was going to be almost 5k,.. sometimes super slow shipping on times can be almost economical if it is by boat so i would almost promise you it would be cheaper to just order the parts and pay shipping than it would be to ship your car there and back.

Why don't you buy yourself a roundtrip ticket to Japan, buy and bring back the parts yourself?

Shipping

Just reading your post. Regarding shipping for parts you can ship this by sea, you would use a service called LCL (less than a container) using this method you could ship 1,2,3 however many pallets you want. Food for thought, if you found the right supplier they could palletize the product and you could arrange the shipping yourself.
