Have a 2007 G35 Sedan, with the (black) graphite interior. I also have a rambunctious bulldog mix named Bruno. Not a great combination at times.
The little bastard, who gets locked in via a leash in the backseat when I take him out is able to reach the center console, and scratch up the side of the drivers seat. Did I mention that Bruno is a little bastard at time?
Well, am trying to figure out to repair this, since the leather is not 'black', but the Infiniti black graphite, correct? Was trying to find some leather tape I could simply install over that, but, have had no luck finding a color match. Has anyone out there had to handle something like this in the past? I was dreading going to a upholstery shop... may be out of my price range for a 17 year old car. Appreciate any suggestions! Argh Argh again The guilty party
Not many options here, actually 2: 1 is to get the seat to a upholstery shop to redo the whole seat or 2 is to find a 'good' used one online. I'm not even gonna post my photo of my driver seat and i don't have any pets, it just naturally started to crack and peel at the same side and mine is light tan color.. Just those sides seem to become sticky and gooey, must be that petroleum based Nissan leather..
Here is how my driver seat looks like on the side. It just 'became' like that on its own. I've put some clear plastic tape on it but it's a crap fix. You can put a black t-shirt over the seat but nothing too thick as there is a airbag on the side..
Do all the functions still work with the G37 seats?
yup. all the controls and seat buttons work (only have driver seat). the seat warmer on mine doesn't, but that's probably just the seat that i got. not a huge deal.

You didnt get any messages for airbags? Can u share a pic of your seat?
I have an 05 coupe and my seat is torn in the middle and on the side. I was gonna get it re-upholstered but these G37 seats might be the better option if I can find one.

oh, you have an '05... i have a '07 sedan. don't think you can use those coupe S seats without some mods to your tracks/harness side. here's the seat (actually have for sale locally right now, but may consider shipping it - shipping cost gonna suck lol)

If you don't want to replace or reupholster the seat then I would use a self-adhesive leather repair tape. Just be sure to REALLY clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol before applying the tape. And once per year you will need to touch up the edges of the patch with a little more adhesive.
A big sheet of leather patch on Amazon is usually only around $20, make a template with some paper stock to cover almost the entire side panel section of the seat, cut the patch to be about 1/8" smaller all the way around so it doesn't overlap onto the sewn edges of the panel, cover up any LARGE ripped sections with clear tape to keep it from ripping any further, then put the self-adhesive patch on.
You might need to Amazon return a couple times if the color isn't a good match, usually for this kind of stuff though a good guess will suffice.
For the yearly touch up I like the Shoe Fix brand shoe glue because it's flexible, has a tiny little stem, and dries clear.
I do not want to mess with it every year. I think im just gonna check a few auto upholstery shops around me and see how much they charge. There should be a bunch of them around my area.
