Do your g coupes have any problems?

HI, i'm a newbie.

I heard that the 350z has a lot of problems with the transmission, tire feathering, etc. (lots more).

Are your g35 coupe's experiencing any issues?

Any transmission problems? Anything?

Has anybody here ever had to have their transmissions replaced?

Thanx for your time.

Are you sure you're not talking about Acura TLs ?!!! They had a lot of tranny problems, I didn't hear much about G tranny problems.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

I know that some people here with an 03 model coupe had tranny problems but the 04's are ok. I think, but I may be wrong, Infiniti had corrected the tranny problem already. It's not aflawless car every car out there has it's own flaws. I think the G35 is just a wonderful car to drive and have. I gave up my 03 Acura TLS for this car and I don't have any regrets about it. In fact the only thing wrong with my car right now is that I don't drive it enough. It should be 2 days of work and 5 days of weekend then I'll be happy. Goodluck on your purchase should you buy one.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

tranny problems make mine seem small.

My cd changer has been broken for about a month now...still haven't had a chance to swing by the service center....THEY WONT take my VIN over the phone.

And for about 2 days my auto return on the passenger seat didn't work....then it just started again.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

Seems to get horrible gas mileage.

Although that may be caused by my foot hahaha.

Other than that...I think the parking brake is screwed up. Doesnt seem to hold well. But no complaints so far.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

There have been many problems with the 2003 tranny's...quite a few people on this forum have had there tranny's replaced....and a few 2004 tranny's as well...Im on my third tranny as we speak about to go back in for my fourth...And it's not my driving or lack of knowing how to drive a manual...ive had plenty of manuals and my last one was a M3 with SMG tranny...but besides that the car is AWESOME!

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

I have a Feb 03 car and the closest thing I've had to a tranny problem is a chip in the titanium coating on the shifter.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

I have had several problems with my G. I still love it but I think mostly it's because mine was a very earlier production model.
These are the things that have been replaced to date:

1.transmission (number two might be on it's way)
2.window seal
3.brake lamp switch
4.cd changer

Again I expected some issues since this is the first year. But I think the only reason I will NOT buy an infiniti again has been the low quality customer service from infiniti. So when it comes time for you to buy most of the bugs if not all will be gone requiring less visits to the dealer. Of course you also may be lucky enough to live near a good dealer but so far my experience says those are few and far between. Love my G though poor service or not. Laters.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

I am a year in and 7200 miles...12/02 build. Just the TBS for the window gease steak and brake light switch. So far my tranny has not had any issues and the shifter has lessened in notchiness. The characterstic throw out bearing noise in the clutch plate is the same as day one....and the tranny noise in neutral with the clutch out is the same. I do shift aggressively at times and use the G's full potential. I did get a lazy hand once and made 2nd gear talk a little bit with a BUZZZZ!, but not since then.

Is there a reason you didnt just claim the car was a lemon? After 3 trannies I'd expect them to buy my car back at full price.

Re: Do your g coupes have any problems?

I have an early '03 model. I was one of the first to deliver from my dealership. (The first black G coupe delivered to Dallas for about a week...supposedly) Here's a list:
Sunroof stopped working. Driver's side window stopped working. I'm on my third CD player. The paint chips too easily (as noted on other posts.) I know all paint will chip w/stones, etc. but this paint has been excessive. My front end is beat to hell. The clear bra was too new on the market for me to take advantage of. I had my car for several months before I even knew what it was. All that, and for some reason I still love my G enough to be on a damn website dedicated to my car! Go figure!
