2003 vs 2004 reliablilty

I may be considering a used 2003 with 5000 km on it.

I understand that some modifications wer done to the 2004 g35c. (just to get some bugs out).

Should i dish out the cash and get a 2004?
Or is the 2003 still plenty reliable?

Well, I'm going out on a limb here and saying go for the 2004! Like you said the "bug" what been worked out, and with the extra miles you really don't know what was done to it.

I agree... if someone sells their car that early, chances are they drove it like crazy.

If you plan on keeping this thing more than say... 4 years, buy the new one.

Shell out the cash for a new 04. You'll thank yourself for it, if you are serious about keeping the car.

It depends on the price of the 2003.

Re: 2003 vs 2004 reliablilty

The 2003 G35 (not specific to sedan, coupe, 5AT, 6MT) had over 50 TSB's as reported by the NHTSA

There are no TSB's reported for the 2004 model year *yet* so it would go to ASSuME that all those problems were fixed on the '04 model. I would go (well I did actually with the peace of mind of a new '04 where most of the "first year" bugs are worked out (for the most part).

All of this is in my opinion of course

i agree that it would be a better idea to go with the 04, and that's what i'm gonna do.

Thank you for your time!

Re: 2003 vs 2004 reliablilty

the only problem's i've had with my 04 were the window streak issue, dealer took care of it during an oil change, and i had one of my mud deflector's be the wrong color, it was black instead of blue and so hard to tell the difference on the car, you had to be in just the right light. other than that i've not had any issues at all. i currently have about 5100 miles

Re: 2003 vs 2004 reliablilty

Mine is a May '03 build, and the only problem I had was the rear parcel shelf rattle, which was fixed by the dealer - no biggie. No other problems at all. And my car still smells like new - hell, it should, it's only 8 month old! It also has only 4,000 miles.

But its not for sale
