6mt trnamission ???/ Prestige Infiniti FL

Hey guys, I got an 05 G coupe with 26,000 on it. About 10,000 miles or so ago, my clutch was making a bad banging sound, and teh clutch raddle was getting worse, took it to the dealership, they found nothing wrong. WEll a few weeks ago, my car started gridding shifting into 5th, like bad. then it started griding when u down shifted from 6 to 5. I wasnt like power shifting or racing, just shifting normal at about 45mph.
Took it to Presitge infiniti. They said my clutch was bad and are replacing it under warranty for me. I guess thats what wrong with it. They said they could tell without even taking the tranny out of the.
Has anyone had similar problems. I still don't have the car back, they said it they are waiting for gaskets to finish the install, i'm suppose to have it monday.
Also, anyone ever dealt with Prestige Infiniti in Tallhassee FL? Anyone know any performance shops in the Panama city area?
thanks

Thank God. I was about to fly off the handle at another idiot dealership.......

Synchro's are the issue, and Infiniti just replaces a transmission rather than rebuild it on the spot. A "clutch going out" isn't going to give you troubles in just one gear. The clutch doesn't sit around and say "eh, lets f*ck with 5th gear today." If the clutch goes, then you'll notice things like the RPM's going up, but the car not getting faster, or worse, sitting completely still. And my fpersonal favorite clutch issue, is the burnt smell that you'll get when you toast it. I'd rather sniff glue fumes than burnt clutch vapors. blegh

so i got a new clutch and a new transmission out of it, and i racked up 1600miles + on the rental in a week. i was coming up on the 30,000 mile check so it saved me from doing the trany flush.
all in all, it cost me 5 bucks
glad to hear that the new trany solved ur problem, hopefully does the same to mine

i had a similar problem i had a clicking notice coming out the rear and they said its my axels so they changed them and the noise came back so i went to them and they said my tranny is shoot so they replaced it and the nice came back again, so now im going to go get the suspension checked out... NJ g35 owners i would recommended going to Circle Infiniti thats the only dealership (Todd the service writer) that treated a 21 year old kid as a normal person

yeah, i know. it took them a week to replace my cluch! my new tranny is in, only took 1.5 days, not 4. After having my car at the dealership for 1.5 weeks, the first thing i'm doing is checking the miles.

I know all about dealerships treating G owners like little kids if they are under 40. I worked my *** off through school and now i'm in the LT in the Air Force. I'm just waiting for the day for the service manager to ask to speak to my father before working on my car though its in my name and I paid for it
