Would you buy a base coupe or....

Would you buy a base coupe or....
Here's my dilemma. I have wanted a g35 for over a year now and have been saving for about that same length of time. ( I plan on putting about $15K down and financing the rest). I make an okay salary, but my budget will only allow me to buy a base coupe (I know, you guys are probably gasping, but I would rather have a base coupe than a loaded accord or other vehicle any day). My question is, would you buy a new base coupe (29K+), or would you buy a year old coupe with leather, aero, premium(30K+)? I never wanted to buy a used car, but I just might make an exception, I'm not sure. Also, how expensive is it to maintain a g35? I know that if I am asking all of these questions, I might be trying to purchase a car that is out of my league. Thanks for any advice.

I agree.. the coupe isnt for everyone. Seems to be a few sweet deals out there, even on 1 or 2 month old cars. The demographic most likely to bring theirs back is probably older, less likely to beat their cars. (assuming the front lip isnt all chewed up from poor depth perception
I bet if you asked Grubbs for such a car, they would tell you when one came in. And I dont think they would lie about its origin like some other dealers would.

Why not wait about 6 months and save the monthly payment you'd be paying if you bought one now. Put that money towards your down payment and you've got your loaded coupe. I'd rather wait 6-8 months and be happy with my car than buy now and for 3 or 4 years (or more) wish I had this or that.

I guess It's just me. But I wouldn't a used car. I don't car if the Vatican owned it, I just don't like used cars. If you don't mind cloth, and don't want or need the options, buy the base car. The longer you wait, the longer you are without the car (not a car but the car). Good Luck with your decision.

I have the base coupe. I needed the extra headroom w/out the sunroof. I love it! I had a Lexus SC400 before this car-the wood the leather, the Nak(stereo). The G is sooo fun compared to the SC. If you get the base you won't miss an option except for fliping the rearview mirror at night.

I'm with Lowrider on used cars. Not for me. I feel happiest putting all the miles on my cars, (especially the break-in miles) and would be willing to wait for enough money to buy new.
Nothing wrong with a base model, these cars have a long list of standard equipment and come well equipped whichever way they arrive. Looking down the road tho, it may be a little easier to sell with more goodies on it, but to me that's not a major issue, so long as you can live with the ride equipped the way it is.
If I were you, I'd wait a little while longer, save more $, and buy new, equipped the way you like it.

have you looked into the difference in monthly payments? it looks like the difference between base and loaded would only be about $100 difference per month if you go with a 5 year loan. i just punched it into the loan calculator on yahoo finance. believe me, for only another hundred or so, i would get the fully loaded coupe. i purchased my coupe just when i graduated and started working and was in the same dilemma as you too. now, i constantly regret not getting all the options i wanted because now after the fact, i realized that it only equates to a little over a hundred dollar difference per month.
