My friend just broke in his coupe, so weve been doing some "spirited" driving around the city.
Tonight, we were hauling *** down Grand Ave In Diamond Bar,CA and we came upon a white S2000. had a single tip exhuast, and it had some body work. I told my friend in the other lane we should hit this guy up...so the S gets in between us....and i turn on my hazards, he flashes....we fly....
Wow that s2000 had a unique sound to it... the engine sounded like it was right by my damn ear....
Then he got into the other lane and was approaching quickly..however we were diverted into one lane because of construction on that part..so when it cleared again...we flew again..we probably went at it for like a good 1/4mile or so from the construction to the light....very close but he could not pass me, even though i really thought i was done for....my friend in the G didnt really race because it was a 2 lane road so just he spectated. however, he did say the race looked ridiculously sick...
Right at the very end of the run....we were approaching an intersection and we see a cop slowly come thru the intersection...so we slam on the brakes....and stop in perfect time.....no cop trouble...phew
The S2000 had a passenger in the car...so i figured thats why i won...however, I have 5MT, so it kinda balanced it out me thinks....but then again he "appeared" to have mods...well massive exhuast, at least......anyway i got alotta respect for the S2k......

I don't think NA mods do anything for S2000s. I considered modding my S2000, but after seeing the dyno sheets of my friend's S2000 with intake, headers, and exhaust with very little gains, I didn't bother. Honda really optimized that engine from the factory.

cops camp out almost everydays at the section of grand ave. connecting diamond bar and chino hills.so yeah,lucky it is...

 

wow... your torque kills the s2k though.. and you have 40 more hp.. i dunno, it sounds like it'd be a close race w/the s2k's lack of weight. anyway, i think the s2k really shines in the corners instead of straight line performance. nice write up

 

Hell yes, i was freakin lucky! I know thats a cop hot zone, but it was a perfect setup...plus the V1 was on, for a little extra security.
