you could ask them, it might be in their TSB. but of course no dealership would want to replace anything under warranty. it's a hassle for them and SOL for you.

In order for the dealer to be paid for warranty work, the defective part or parts must be verified defective.

I’m pretty sure dealers charge back the manufacturer... if they can cover the warranty they gladly will since they get paid for the labor... sometimes it's difficult for them to replace if they don’t think they can justify what they did to the manufacturer that they intend to get paid by.

I could be wrong, but that's always how I've understood it and Tustin Infiniti has always happily replaced various items under warranty. I don’t think they would be so eager if they weren’t getting paid (of course customer service means something too, but not as much as $$$).

Local dealer would not replace my OAT sensor until they verified it bad. Was acting up, again, drove in to dealer, showed problem to Service Mgr, they agreed to replace it next time I was in.

Same thing is happening with my speakers at times. The just start to crack and pop and it sounds like their blown. But when I turn off the HU for 5 min it dissapears. They're like majic speakers. Ive gone to Infiniti of Palm beach 3 times for the issue, but I have 2 duplicate it for them It happens rarely so its hard for me to bring it in when it does happen. A service lady said that its my custom cds/ipod that makes it sound like that. Then she said my speakers arent made to be all the way up. My reply to that was they're BOSE! They'll give u the run around until u bother them enough... My story is too long to tell so i'll leave it at that.

My left tweeter started acting up too (the sound was on and off) a couple of months ago. I called the dealer. The ordered a new radio. Car is still under warranty. They replaced the whole system CD+Radio. They didn't give me any hard time. The Serviceman said it is a somewhat common problem for 04's.
