A clutch on a new car is like new brakes. It takes some time to temper and for the friction to set in properly. And while its doing that it may slip and stink a bit.
I wouldn't worry about your incident unless the clutch slips while driving up a steep hill and it is fully engaged.
As with the VDC controlling the clutch engagement...there's no way our undervalued G35 can do that. Only exotic and near exotic cars have computer controlled clutch actuators. The engagement point on the clutch is high and its hard to dump the clutch quick enough.
Do take care of the clutch though and don't treat it like a ford or honda. It's got a dual mass fly wheel that cannot be machined like most other cars. The clutch job on this car is over a grand for sure if they insist on changing the flywheel.
