My dilemma

My brother-in-law works at the Infiniti dealer and mentioned that DG/G 6MT premium was available because of a cancellation. I want to jump at the chance to purchase however here's my dilemma: Not trilled with graphite interior (too hot and makes interior looks small), waiting for the armrest, i have one car garage and my 2002 4-runner will go outside (planning to move in the spring), not sure when my next opportunity to purchase.
Should I go for it....I need to decide quickly. Thanks for your quick opinions.

Re: My dilemma

my advice to you is if you are not 100% in love with it don't get it. it is a lot of money you are spending so don't spend it on something you will not be happy with.

Re: My dilemma

just buy it

i didn't want a navi system, but it was either pay like 3,600CDN for it, or wait a few more months to get the car, so I said f-it, it's only 3,600. I'm glad i decided, she's sooooo much fun and definately worth it....only downside is that I've had her for almost a month now and she only has 68KMs on her.......god darned snow!!!!!

Re: My dilemma

I got willow interior because it was first available. However, I wouldn't worry about graphite interior being substantially hotter than the willow. I bought my TL-S a year and a half ago on a hot summer day. I alternated sitting in one with a light interior, and one with the black interior. I couldn't detect a noticeable difference in the temperature of the seats. I went with black leather. I have no regrets.

Hope this helps.

Re: My dilemma

i agree with Antrock,
If its not the one you want...don't get it...

But do get the black interior tho...its gonna be worth it later on..
My suggestion is too wait for the armrest...you'll be happier..unless u can get the car for cheap..than screw the armrest..ehhehe

Re: My dilemma

I just called my brother-in-law back and the car is sold. You snooze you lose.... I should've know better it wasn't going to last 24 hours. Thanks for all the responses and the great points, now I'm even more confused....willow or black.

Re: My dilemma

I've had a black interior, cloth, for many years and would do it again. My biggest issue has only been dust. Seems the lighter colors show dirt and stains a lot more. Some like the lighter colors to as it makes the same area look larger by being able to see corners and edges. Dark is hotter in hotter climates unless you have good tint or park in the shade or with the trunk to the sun. To sum, hot climate and no tint/shade, consider willow but be prepared to clean more often. Where temperature is not an issue, consider black. Pertinent to you initial question, I think having the car bought before you made a decision was in your best interest. A great deal at the wrong time is still the wrong time. Good luck. ...dean

Re: My dilemma

I have had 6 cars with black interiors. My last was our I-30 which we still have. Before the G35 I had an ES300 with a light interior. It looked beautiful and had bundles of class but it was a royal pain to keep up and showed a fair bit of wear after the 4 years I had it. The carpet was soil stained and we could not get it clean. Our I-30 which we have had since May of 95 still looks showroom condition. As for black being hot, the car is air conditioned. If your really concerned about heat you could put a remote starter in the car and set your A/C on high. The opposite of what we have to do up here in Soviet Canuckistan. WIth regard to the arm rest, I don't miss one with the stick. An auto would be a different story.

If you are not in a rush, order what you want and wait. I changed my mind several times during the last year and a half. Originally ordered a silverstone Z. I waited for what I really wanted and I'm glad I did. Go with your heart and you will never have regrets.

in all seriousness....my advice is dont get the G now unless YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT because its not exactly how you want it configured.

Re: My dilemma

BTW, this car was manufactured on 12/02 and didn't have the armrest, so it's taking about two months to get to the West coast. What month was the armrest suppose to start?
