rasp on startup....?????

everytime I start up my car, my exhaust is raspy when I get on it even 3/4ths throttle.(not to say i beat on my car right when it starts up)but its like I have a small leak or a gasket is flapping back and forth. then when my car warms up its gone. anyone else had an experience like this? Im just a little concerned. any input??

you know, i thought about that. a few of my friends have them. I just wanted to make sure everybody else thoguht it was normal as well. I was also concerned about possibly cracking my exhaust. I have read about when people put on aftermarket exhaust, it rids the exhaust of the flex pipe and makes it more vulnerable to cracks. so it had me worried. (i have stillen TD exhaust, so that had me wondering)

so, normal, is the answer. correct?

i know from hearing it in person that the Stillen TD is a bit raspy when cold, and even during revs when warm....without actually listening to it, i would say it is normal, especially if it goes away when warmed up

i would say normal.. i don't have the stillen but i'm running DC headers and FI cats with the HKS exhaust.. its always in the morning or after a long time that i haven't driven a car.. it's almost like rattling during idle/slow speeds but also goes away.. maybe you wanna check for loose bolts just in case?

i think i have the same thing, my exhaust(stock), whenever it warms up, there is a pretty loud buzzing/humming noise coming from the exhaust then it stops. ive been wondering if this is normal. is it?

Get it up on a lift at a shop and have they test for leaks. If you dont wanna pay for that, swing by an oil can henry's or a jiffy lube (they suck by the way) and have the guy in the pit listen and looks for any dents or bent flanges etc.

I had a leak on the flanges connecting the muffler and midpipe. I had scraped it doing out a parking lot. Dealership wanted $350 for the two pieces new, I got a whole exahust for $125.

Oh by the way nissan metal gaskets dont seal very well, I used toyota oem gaskets and they seal much better!
