I changed mine to hawks at I think around 18k... and I didn't really need to get my rotors resurfaced, so I didn't and everythings still fine, no grinding, no squeeking. Am I really braking badly or something though only 18k and you guys are getting more than 25k?? I thought I was taking it easy most of the time... and how come our 35k car doesn't have a warning light for pad wear anyways? It would be better than just kneeling down and trying to check every now and then I think... oh well...

oh yeah, the hawks don't have the metal warning thing.. what's it called? The thing that makes the rotors squeal when its near the time to change pads... so I have to check sometimes... I guess just for piece of mind...

I'll probably be going to the dealer tomorrow to have it checked out cause the last thing I want to do is burn through my rotors on a practically new car. Anyone else having trouble? Worst thing is I have a set of 20's comming next week! Bad timing to have to deal with this but on the bright side at least the rims arent on for infiniti to blame.
I had that too, but I've tracked and dragged my car so many times, it made sense to me...I replaced the stock Brembo pads with Hawk HPS and turned my rotors...they are better than ever!

You guys have it so easy and get by so cheaply........MY 90 Q45 went thru oem pads every 20-22k and needed rotors retrued every 7-8,000 miles and tires replaced every 16k.....liked doing it so much that I kept the car for 15 years. [Still have it and almost time to do the brakes again]........about every 3 months now.

Brakes and tires and their maintenance are always the highest cost factor in a performance car.
