I changed mine to hawks at I think around 18k... and I didn't really need to get my rotors resurfaced, so I didn't and everythings still fine, no grinding, no squeeking. Am I really braking badly or something though only 18k and you guys are getting more than 25k?? I thought I was taking it easy most of the time... 
and how come our 35k car doesn't have a warning light for pad wear anyways? It would be better than just kneeling down and trying to check every now and then I think... oh well...
oh yeah, the hawks don't have the metal warning thing.. what's it called? The thing that makes the rotors squeal when its near the time to change pads... so I have to check sometimes... I guess just for piece of mind...

You guys have it so easy and get by so cheaply........MY 90 Q45 went thru oem pads every 20-22k and needed rotors retrued every 7-8,000 miles and tires replaced every 16k.....liked doing it so much that I kept the car for 15 years. [Still have it and almost time to do the brakes again]........about every 3 months now.
Brakes and tires and their maintenance are always the highest cost factor in a performance car.
