Well I heard a rumor that in the next year or two Infiniti/Nissan will be coming out with turbo models of the G35coupe and 350z..Has anyone heard anything like this at all???? Personally they should have offered it to begin with as an engine upgrade. I mean this car was made to compete with the BMW 3 series right...umm yeah but they forgot to compete with the best BMW 3 of all the M3..The G35c is just not fast enough!!!! I dont race but if i mess aroud a little i want the power !!The car looks fast but when it comes down to it a V6 accord can almost match the performance!! The G35c is like putting a 9mm bullet in a 44magnum gun!!! I hope they do turbo cuz if not im gettin the 2005 vette!!!

If it's true, then those of us with non-turbo G's should be able to get the application applied from Infiniti thus not affecting our warranties.

You're kidding me when you say that the new 260 hp accord can almost match the performance of the G35C right?

 

well... I don't think it matches our car performance. I think it is about .5 sec slower in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Fact is though imho the G35C is pretty slow. But I still love my car.

Heh.. This is true. I'm comming from a V-8 world to a V-6.

I just wish the G was a bit more peppy. I drove my friends STI and that is a fun car to drive.. Ugly imo, but fun.

BTW my E55 is a '99, not the new ones.. but hella fun to drive!!

You have got to be kidding, or you don't read perfromance stats very much. The number of cars under $40,000 that can beat a G35 Coupe are very few indeed. Check the road test summaries of Motor Trend or Car & Driver.

 

I thought the V-6 Accord was 240hp..?

I don't think that our car is fast, but I know that it isn't "slow". I mean, have you driven any BMW 3-series excluding the M3. Not exactly "fast". EVO and STI are a few that are fast, in a totally different type of car though.

True on the V6 accords. They have some power. I ran with a sedan on the freeway. That's right, a four door. We basically were neck and neck each time we raced (approx. 50mph-105mph). I might have pulled away by about a foot or two (ha!) That experience made me sad.

I know that's just straight line speed, but still. A few more ponies in the stock G would raise the car to a new level.
