The earlier poster who implied that speed is relative to past experience is right on. My G35 seemed really fast when I first bought it. Then it didn't seem crazy fast anymore. I had a supercharger put on and it seemed crazy fast again for a while and now it doesn't seem crazy fast anymore.

I'm not very good at launching and the best I've been able to do in the last couple of days with my new G-Tech Competition Pro timer is right around 5.1 seconds to 60 mph.
Once I get wider rubber, lighter wheels (my current wheels are pig heavy), and better technique my goal is to regularly get under 5 seconds to 60 and to break 12.5 seconds for the 1/4 mile.

I may make it, I may not, but regardless the car won't seem crazy fast once I'm used to it. So, my advice is to enjoy what ya got while ya got it!

Gentlemen, now getting back to the turbo rumor, what has everyone heard?

 

I've been reading all these posts and I must say the G35 is not a fast car...while not slow its not fast either. I have driven RX7's for half my life and I consider them fast cars. The G35 in stock form or slighty modded is not fast. I guess thats the price you pay for a Luxo-sport coupe. I still love it. If you guys want a fast car....get a RX7 or a Supra running 25+ lbs. of boost. Now thats fast!!

Steve, I agree with you, the car seemed pretty fast to me for a Sedan but after a month it is starting to wear off, I am getting Ford Focus's race me now and when I stomp on it I don't seem to pull away as fast as I would like. I think it's time for upgrades but then I will prob. get bored of that after awhile.
In my 3000gt I managed to get 0-60 in 5.1 stock and that felt good but after a couple of months I got bored of that too so I modded it and now I do the 1/4 in 11.6 but I still have the urge for more power, I am starting to think something is wrong with me.

Go rent an Intrepid or some other piece of crap for a weekend. You can always get weekend deals for less than a hundred bucks. By Sunday night your car will feel like greased lightning. I've actually done this a couple times to keep me from doing anything nuts to my car.

BTW, I'm James from www.v6performance.net where we have a ton of accord owners. 7th Gen Accord 6MT Dynos show the car is greatly underrated and should put down approximately 260hp to the crank on premium fuel. It's torque where you guys have the Accord's owned at.

damn, how old are you people. how much do you make? I just bought my g35 and can't afford to put supercharger in already. cant even afford wheels yet.
.1 sec difference in a 0-60 is enough for a blow out Isn't it???
godamn accord is 240 bhp. Its ugly. I dont think g35 drivers should be happy cuz they can beat an accord???

 

Regardless of what you have, there will always be someone out there that is faster. I remeber seeing videos of an old Chrysler mini van that was pulling 11's in the 1/4 mile.

as far as people comeing from this car and that. Most of the people flapping their gums don't even have the cars they are flapping their gums about.

Those accords are pretty fast. I came up against one but I had my son in the car so it was no go for me. I egged him on until 30mph then let off. I am sure he bragged about his G35 kill.
