After switching to diesel, I've been getting an average of 54mpg, although I've also been hearing some strange sounds coming from the supercharger unit...

I put 87 in all the time. no problems at 40K miles. engine retards computer wise very well I assume.

Back when hurricaine Katrina hit down here in louisiana all we had was regular gas, which I had not choice to use for 3 months, but never had any problems, but as soon a premium came back I went back to it. there is a big difference in performance and gas milage between the 2 imo

My salesperson told me my 07 coupe wouldn't require premium gas, as his wife didn't put it in her car. Well Infiniti feels otherwise. I don't put many miles on my coupe so I put only premium in it. It doesn't cost that much more.

91 all the time, used 89 a couple of times not much difference, and 87 once, mpg decreases and performance...not worth it.

I agree with these statements!
I also agree w/ Hai's post... if you want to ruin your car, go right ahead.

Except that, with my 04 sedan, i have not seen a difference in gas mileage between 87 and 91. I use 91 more often than 87 only because they "recommend" 91.Originally Posted by redlude97

Driving speed and wind direction apparently trump any possible gas mileage difference on the sedans.
