'04 Coupes in Charlotte, HELP me out

hey guys

I live in charlotte as well and my radio is dead. was wondering if your car is under warranty if we could scheme something to send the radio off for repair based on your warranty. You will be compensated with cash and if my plan works you will never have to take your radio out of your car or even drive it to the dealer. please pm me for details. Thanks guys

what are you asking?

yes if you still have warranty it will be replaced for free... idk if thats what you wanted to know

he's trying to get his broken radio that, i'm guessing is out of warrantee replaced under somebody else's valid warrantee..ie bate and switch infiniti to fixing/replacing his dead radio as if it's yours, under your warrantee. I'm not sure if it'll work, but he obviously has a plan for you to somehow get a defective radio replaced by inifiniti without doing the swap and having to drive to the dealer for them to inspect that it is broken.

So yeah. I have the check disc error, am not under warranty, and dont want to spend upwards of $400 to get it fixed. So maybe working something out with a local g owner is my best bet.

yah. Heres the deal. Some of you may consider it fraud but consider this: when you pay 40 grand for a car and expect all of its components to be of the utmost quality only to find out that one out of every 3 stereos is defective... either a) ifiniti is trying to find a way to cut costs and is commissioning clarion is downgrade their parts to make more money or b) they know its a problem and because of the immense cost of doing a recall on such an expensive piece they just ignore all the complaints. As a customer, I feel like i have been frauded. Clearly our efforts as a community do not phase nissan, so sometimes creativity has got to be used to balance the scales.

I dont mean to defraud infiniti, I just wish that they would be more responsive to ALL their customers.

Wow... don't be so hard on this guy. We are all a team here, right?

Honestly, I believe service departments in general to be the scum of the earth. They would screw any of you out $ whenever possible. How about my wife taking my car in for a simple oil change and them telling her she needs new brakes at 15k miles. I then had a friend who works at nissan look at the brakes and he laughed. He said there was at least 50% of the life left in the pads. Or, how about when I hydrolocked my car. Insurance covered it under a comprehensive loss but Infiniti charged my insurcance company $15800 to just replace the ENGINE!!! WHAAAATTT!!!

If I had an 04 coupe under warranty I'd help this guy out!

I beleve the radios come with their own serial numbers, though, generally tied to a VIN, so if the dealer checks and sees a mismatch, this might not work.

Also, have you considered other places to get it fixed, like:

Exactly correct. When you buy a car, it comes with a warranty. If you want a longer warranty, buy one. It doesn't matter if you pay $20K, $40K or $60K, you get the warranty offered by the manufacturer. If your car is out of warranty, deal with it.

Also, what is the source of your assertion that 1/3 of the stereos fail? There was a survey here some time ago where 15% (?) said they had stereo failures. I don't know if that's an accurate number because I don't know if you can say that an enthusiats' web site membership is representative sample of all owners.

guys I appreciate this feedback. I think i am just going to shell out the $300 and get it repaired. I am not trying to con anyone but sometimes the dealerships needs a taste of their own medicine.

Honestly the money is more worth it than the trouble. You are talking about putting someone else through a lot of trouble. My cars currently in for the check disk error as we speak.

well my plan was pretty much hassle free on the part of the "donor" but i think i can fix the problem myself, i just need the part.
