I have 05 coupe and had the same problem off and on for the first 1.5 years.
Dealer first replaced the fuel tanks shutter valve but it did not work, they then replaced the whole fuel tank, but it also failed to correct, so at the end they replaced the fuel sender units and this worked (all under warranty). I don't have the problem anymore.
Fuel sender units replacement work had below parts installed (parts number).
25060-AL51A SENDER UNIT x1
25060-CD00A SENDER UNIT x1
17342-CE800 RINGS x2
Tell your dealer to order these and have them replaced, it will take care of it.

If it happened only once it sure could have been a faulty pump. I've run into a couple of them before too.

Its happened to me as well... I get to between full and 3/4 of a tank and then it won't let me put any more in

anybody ever assume that maybe it is just a cheap gas station and a screwed up gas pump/nozzle?

i thought it was, i was at a shell a brand new one btw. tryed 1 pump got 20 bucks in it then it started messing up, so i was like humm maybe its the hose.. so i went to a different pump same thing... so i said ill try 1 more diff one, did and it did the same thing. then the most recent one was at a valaro and did it after 40bucks. so i only got 3/4 tank
