g35 roadster?

Dunno if this has been posted before, but it seems that there is a roadster in the make for summer 2004. The pic is near the bottom of the article.

Re: g35 roadster?

That looks really nice...even though I would never buy a convertable...we have too many overturned accidents here...and I have scrapped way too many people up off the highway...
I like the Lexus IS 300 - but it wasn't enough HP for me...now they will be coming out with a 300 hp V8...hummmmmmm

That's a Photoshop with Z-4 seats and roll-over guards....
Plus, if something would be in the works in terms of new convertible for this coming summer,
we would have known by now.

Plus, these guys got their facts wrong: "...Also expected in late 2004 is a convertible version of the 287 hp coupe"

Never can really trust those sites. That roadster version of the coupe has been on the boards for months.

Re: g35 roadster?

yeah i remeber seeing that pic when the 350Z rodster was being introduced. that is not a spy pic or a concept as that site would have u belive but it is acauly just a photo shop some bord memeber did a long time ago, it funny to see how the facts can get so twisted. dont expect a convertible G any time soon if ever.

Re: g35 roadster?

Alas it is only a chopped photo. I would love to see a convertible with the folding hard top feature of the.....
300hp Lexus SC430. Just not for $65k.
And talk about a platform for mods. That car has been "civilized" to be the ultimate Rodeo Drive/Worth Avenue cruiser...but the engine is fantastic, and only modest changes to the suspension and motor could have that pretty little thing throwing 500hp and torque to match. All wrapped up in doeskin leather and birdseye maple appointments. BUT, ummmm, do you really want to take the knife to a $65k base car? Nope, probably not. But for $10k you would have an M5 eater. With elegance and style.
Since I am a not such a sophisticate, I will stick with what I have, but a folding hardtop on the G would be a very nice way to keep the lines, and get some rays.

Re: g35 roadster?

Supposedly...the dealership said this to me...In super late 2005 or 2006. There should be a hard top convertible coming out for the sports coupe. But this is like far down the road. Newportconvertibles.com I think it is. Does a softtop convertible job for $11,500.00 on the sports coupes and they use Mercedes soft tops I believe.

Re: g35 roadster?

Don' t ever want to see a G35 convertible - totally destroy the beautiful lines of the car. A targa or panorama roof would be more desirable.

Re: g35 roadster?

Like the others have said, its a bullshit picture and there's no chance that they are releasing a roadster this summer.
