New replacement engine, no new drive belts????

Im having my engine replaced from the Infiniti dealership under warranty for oil consumption issues. They called me because they said my drive belts are cracked. Shouldnt the new engine have new drive belts? I cant believe that they would put the old belts on. I know they reuse you intake manifold and intake etc etc. but not new drive belts.

yeah I just payed to have them replace them its was like $60 bucks but I just started thinking about it later. They do that so they cut costs of a replacement. You would think they would want new engine parts on new engine though.

I got a full long block, new bottom end and long block, full long block quoted from Jason of Riverside Infiniti. They dont replace the belts or any part that can be reused on the engine.

Wow. Soooo cheesy. You'd think the pain of the oil consumption test alone would incentivize them to replace a $60 belt

it was a question about if the engine came with new ones already i payed for them to change the rear diff with motul so I wouldt have to order it and get it up on a lift. It was around $120 for the diff oil change...cheesy.

oh and by the way, unless its a g35driver member, someone smart, or a dealership its sometimes its really hard to sell a car with a new engine. I thought it would be easy to sell but its sometimes a huge red flag for people.

We know nissan is a good company overall, so a new engine is fine, to an outsider they question even the quality of the new engine.

No, drive belts do not come with the new engine...A long block is a an engine with heads and block....It doesn't come with all the sensors or belts...Yes...you should get new belts...It save you money on labor because they are trying to up sale on parts...Which is fine because you are saving on labor but parts cost is another story. Hey the dealership makes money on part but the mechanic doesn't make sheit....He's doing it as a service to you as a customer. He doesn't want to put the motor in and then 1 month later it comes in for belts...

It took about 3 weeks for Infiniti Corporate to give the go ahead and the dealership to recieve the engine, according to them. I am quite satisfied with infiniti and Riverside infiniti dealership, the service guy who is helping me is a great guy to deal with...he really cares about service.

The mechanic is payed the same rate as when hes doing labor normally, as told by a tech himself. Infiniti Corporate pays cost + 20% on warranty work AND LABOR COSTS....where you basis for techs no making shiet? It never said they werent charging my labor...they have told me the last three times ive been in that they are cracked and quoted me the same price almost everytime...
