Nobody pays any attention to car alarms when they go off. To most, it just another annoyance. The truth is though that joyriding thieves will pick easy targets first. These alarms won't stop pro's but they will deter the joyriders.

You normally won't see the car again when a pro steals it but if a joyrider steals it you may get it back and who knows what they have done to it. For this reason, alarms are probably good sense.
