my g35 is stock rite now, can someone tell me a way i can increase the hp by 20 to make 300 bhp. i dont want to change the exhaust, cuz i really like the sound of the stocks. will a intake make the sound of the stock exhausts louder? i think the stock exhaust sounds like the car is roaring (sounds powerful). but i think it is a little low. and what else can i put to increase just a little. are those little mods going to affect my warranty?

How much faster 0-60 will 20 extra horses do?

intake makes a lil bite of extra noise from stock on most cars. pullies add a lil sumthing too.

You came to this site and got started off on the wrong foot. You "unintentionally" offended people of color. Now you ask us for our advise, and then when someone gives you a taste of your medicine, just for fun, you get self righteous. Tone it down 2 notches and remember that we are all here to HELP each other. If someone rags on you, take it in stride.

I have big ears (do you feel any better now?)

Anyway, I'm hoping that a Z-Tube, JWT Pop charger, Random Technology High Flow Cats, and the JIC Y-pipe will get me to ~300 hp (at the crank). These mod’s collectively cost ~$1200.00 (buying them all from the right places).

Are you sure you have 306 at the rear wheels? Stock is only 280 hp at the CRANK. With drive train losses through the system of ~15% (unsure this number is completely accurate, but for arguement sake it's close) the stock hp at the wheels would be 238 rwhp (rear wheel horsepower). If you are saying those mods gave you 68 rwhp, to get you to 306 rwhp, I believe you are mistaken.

If you are simply adding the hp for each mod, that is wrong as well. By adding only one modification you might be able to "add" the hp and be close to what a dyno would compute, but if you add 2 or 3 mods you cannot simply add the hp of each to the 280 Crank horsepower you started with.

Mods work with each other and sometimes negate the affects of each other, so If you add 12 hp with an intake and add 10 hp with an exhaust, your total net hp might only be 15 hp at the crank. (not 22hp)

Are you sure you dynoed?

you will need some internal work to hit 300 or a little over 300. Cams and headers will be needed to hit 300.

 

intake , cams , new ecu remap w/ new fuel settings , headers...downpipe no cats...and exhaust ull hit 300rwhp

 

Now wait just a spidey moment! He was merely asking you to clarify...RELAX! If you have the dyno, I'd be interested in seeing it (scan a copy and post)...not for perpetuity, but so the rest of us considering these mods can rest assure that the money spent will deliver. BTW, I too have heard that internal work in necessary to acheive 300+...thank you.

 

Spiderman, this is not intended with any disrespect but a stock G35 only measures around SAE corrected 230 HP at the wheels on a good day. For example, my car even with several intake modifications only measured 217 HP at the wheels.

Crank HP is a different story. Crank HP is NOT something you measure on a wheel-based dyno. It's something you calculate based on the wheel measurement by making an assumption about what percentage of power is lost from the crank to the wheels (since power transfer is inherently lossy).

So you're saying you gained 20 HP but then you said you had 300 HP at the wheels. It's one or the other but not both.
