? old tires and the rev limter ?
? old tires and the rev limter ?
Ok, so I need new back tires and my friend thought it would be a cool idea to do some last minute damage to my tires, since I'm getting new ones anyways.. So for lack of better judgment I also thought it would be a good idea too to have some fun before I get the new ones put on. So we were in an empty parking lot and did some donuts, fishtailing, etc... during one of my fantastic donut spins, I ran up 1st too high & it bounced off the limiter. I heard it hit for a few seconds but it did not "click" in my head to take my foot off the throttle. When I finally stopped, the SLIP light was on and wouldn't go off. Also, I couldn't turn the VDC light off by pushing the button. So I shut the car off for about 10 seconds and then turned it back on. Once it was back on everything was normal (except for the smell of burning tires and my brakes..)
So my question is do you think anything bad happed due to my urge to have some fun on an old set of tires?????

its when you lose traction your vdc kicks in and if you do lose traction alot with the vdc on it goes into a limp mode where it kinda gives up trying to regain control.
i read this somewhere i think, some else might know.
