short people or those with shorter legs

my fiance drove my car the other day and felt crammed. BTW, she prefers bigger cars, small suv's.

to be able to fully engage the clutch, she had to have the sear moved up a good chunk. she was then close to the roof, where it meets the windshield. she probably could have lowered the seat, but didn't (going back to her preference for riding high).

how many shorter or shorter legged folks have similar experiences.

Re: short people or those with shorter legs

This car should have the "adjustable" pedals for this type of senario......

Most shorter people are faced with either being jammed in front of the steering wheel to reach the pedals, or having to really extend their legs in order to work the pedals effectively.

My Dad, who is 84, God BLess Him, still drives. He is around 5' 3 tall and occassionaly when I get in his car to drive I keep forgetting how far the seat is up! I feel like Houdini trying to negotiate myself into the seat...

I think the adjustable pedal assembly would really be a benefit for this and other cars along the infiniti line...just my .02 2old4this

Re: short people or those with shorter legs

me too, I have to slide the seat up front for a comfortable reach to the pedals and recline the seatback so that my arms arn't too bent and close to the steering wheel. I wish the car had adjustable height pedals. The worst part is that since the seat is so up front, it's really hard to get in the car unless you swing the door open all the way and that's not always possible if the parking space is tight.

Does anyone know if the aluminum pedal kits give you a little more pedal height?

Re: short people or those with shorter legs

I have the opposite problem. I'm used to having a telescoping steering wheel in my old Q45, so when my seat is far enough back for my legs, I feel like I'm reaching for the wheel. I'm getting used to it though. I guess this is just another complaint about the lack of a telescoping wheel and memory seats.

Re: short people or those with shorter legs

I'm only 5' 5". I got used to it after a while. This was my first MT car, so when I started driving, I had the seat really moved up. I swear if the airbag went off, it would easily break my nose. Once I got used to driving the MT, I was able to move the seat back. Now I don't look like such a freak when driving. I only have a problem when I wear sneakers. They aren't as thick as my shoes, so I have to move the seat up a bit to drive.

I also have a terrible slouching problem so I keep the back really vertical. But I am far back enough if I wanted to relax while driving, my can comfortably be fully extended when holding the top of the steering wheel.

Re: short people or those with shorter legs

I'm 5'-2" and I have to scoot the seat forward and I raise it up so I can see comfortably over the dash. The only problem with this is that it put's the shifter a bit farther back than I would like. Perhaps if they could made the steering wheel telescopic so one could adjust it forward. I also somtimes bang my head on the A-pillar when I get out of the car since I'm so far forward and up high. But I feel more comfortable driving this car than the 350Z. In the Z, the seat doesn't raise high enough for me, so I feel really sunk into the car and I can't see over the dash comfortably.
