Hey guys, so I dont have the stock steering wheel, which means I have no airbag. So pretty much that means in a crash my chances of dying are going to be higher since I have no airbag and just a seatbelt. I was thinking to get a racing seat and harness to add some safety, since I have no airbag, your thoughts? Suggestions? How PITA is it to get in a harness anyway, I dont have any experience with them.
Thanks,
Aaron

Depends on what type of harness you get some bolt in different locations, how much were you looking to spend for seat and harness
Shouldnt really matter as long as its safe, im not looking to go overkill, dont need a flashy seat thats for sure. I am planning to build my motor in the near future, but I think before turning up the boost I should turn up the safety

let me know if you find someone who makes a harness bar specific to the G35 coupe.
i have yet to see one on the market.
sparco doesn't make one for g35.
some people use the seatbelt anchors located in the rear decklid to strap down there harnesses, but for me that is not an option because i closed up the rear deck lid.
again, let me know if you find a manufacturer.

If your concern is safety, then a seat belt harness should only be used in a car with a full cage, because harness bars do not allow you to slightdown in the seat in the case of a rollover which pretty much means you are dead. Now if you daily drive a full cage car, then a helmet should be used also because the bars can do more damage than good without one in an accident. Basically, once you removed your airbag, you sacrificed either safety or convenience, can't have both unfortunetly

redlude97 is a smart guy, +1 on never running racing harnesses without a roll cage, you cant move when the hood crushes down. Consider it like driving in a convertable with no roll bar, car rolls...you get crushed.

redlude brought up all the good points. You can add padding to the cage, but it really doesnt help all that much i dont think.
