Hello everyone! I recently(2 weeks ago) sold my '99 Triple Black(custom paint - Basalt Black Metallic) 700+ HP vert on ebay. Had a ton of money in it including a big cube built motor and tons of other stuff but the miles were getting up around 50k and I have had it for 4 years so it was time to let her go.

I decided I wanted something sporty but had 4 seats. I happened to stop by an Infiniti dealership and had thought about the G35 Coupe but never driving one. So I spent the afternoon with one and I was impressed. Not too impressed with the power but hell I just came from 700HP so anything would feel slow. But everything else about the car I loved. The car is soo much nicer in terms of comfort, options, and quality than my C5. The paint is a hell of alot better as well.

I knew I wanted a Black/Willow 6-Speed with Nav/Aero/Premium so that really narrowed down my search. I did not want to wait for a new one and luckily ran across one locally that was an exact match. I could not believe it! Less than 10k miles as well.

After test driving the '03 I was sold. We signed the paperwork and here I am 3 days later. On the way home I had two people give me comments on the car, one at a redlight, and the other at Wendy's. My C5 never got great comments when it was bone stock. Even watching the guys at the car was last weekend was a blast as they drooled over it!

I have alot of experience with cars and tuning, etc. so maybe I can bring some knowledge over here. Seems like a great forum.

03 coupe 5AT DG/G premium,performance

 

Well, there is no comparison as far as performance as I was running low 6.8's @ 102mph in the 1/8 mile and 10.6's @ 132mph in the 1/4 with E/T Streets. Those were only with a progressive 100 shot. The engine was built with forged rods/pistons and resleeved to a 4.125" bore(388 cubic inches) so it would support a 250+ shot which would put in at high 9's/low 10's @140+ mph. Fun car but I can always get another. Right now I am enjoying my G!

Is that Atlanta plate I see? Awhile back I remember a vette at Reynolds running some good times. I think a black and a red C5. Was one of those you?

Yes I lived in Atlanta most of the time I owned my vette. I moved down to Savannah last summer but I still come up to ATL all the time for my company and friends. I am pretty sure that was not me at Reynolds but I do have some buds that run there every now and then. One of them in ATL has a built Z 350 supercharged @14+psi making 750rwhp on pump gas. :O Watch out for those Electron Blue Z's. The funny thing is mine was pretty fast but some of my friends up there would just blow mine away. It's only money...

So I take it you live in Atl? If so, where? I would like to meet some of you guys one day.

Yes as a matter of fact I am going to get it back. The guy that purchased my car is riding around in LA right now with it still on. I think he likes it. He is supposed to ship it back this week but I am not sure if I want to put in on yet as it may look kind of stupid when I can't even come close to backing it up. I could always make an excuse for it though from being on my other car...

I think I am just going to do simple mods now...intake/cats/cat-back/grouding/ and maybe the plenum(don't know how much that would affect warranty). Maybe down the line I will throw a turbo or supercharger on. To be honest I think these cars are extremely nice cars and I don't want to over do it. I bought the car so I will just keep it and maybe pick up a C6 or new Viper and make that fast! Who knows, I have too many other priorities right now.

Put it on ebay for $40k. Got $40k in 2 days. Actually I was kind of shocked b/c I was hoping I would get atleast another month of driving out of it. Plus, I sold it right before the big Corvette Tuner shootout in Jackson, SC. Even "THE" Lingenfelter vette was there. It was a '99 w/ 52k miles on the body, 12k miles on the motor/trans/clutch/brakes.
