Are dealers giving big discounts on the 07 model now that the g37 is out? I have a 04 that I am thinking of trading it. It only has 16K miles and already needs clutch and breaks. It's like 6 grand or some shiz! Lame. Before the learn to drive flames start, I have owned manual exclusively for 17 years and have had no problems like this before. Most were high HP cars too. :/
Instead of doing that, I was thinking about just getting an 06 and was wondering what kind of deal to expect....

i agree, its crazy. they say because of the brembos, brakes will be 4000K if the rotors cannot be resurfaced. the clutch and flywheel will be 1800. im hoping i misheard the quote, but thats what i think they said.
if it comes down to that, i will go all after market. does anyone know if 05+ folks are expereicing fast wear on clutch or infiniti oem brakes?

i can't blame him. I've driven stick for years also, and the car is pretty hard to drive just right... I've had the car for a month myself, and i burn the clutch a bit almost every time also.
Since i did the engagement point mod i found on here, i'm not really burning the clutch too bad anymore. I think an aftermarket clutch is a really good idea regardless, since u can probably get one with out the strange engagement point.
Anyway yea, you can get a good deal on 04's now i noticed, but 06's are still a bit more valuable regardless of the mileage. Probably the same with 07's.

if thats the case.... just get BBK instead lol
brembo aftermarket rotors - $500 for all 4 wheels;
brembo aftermarket pads - $200 for all 4 wheels;
stock clutch is about $500 installed / aftermarket jwt - $400;
i see no reason for a new flywheel but an aftermarket would be cheaper so you'd prolly wanna grab a jwt lightweight flywheel for about $400;
~so spend about a $1500 and you'll have a brand new car, instead of speding money on buying a different car that will have similar issues at some point.

try this out, it's a freaking great little mod u can do that fixes the clutch travel...
I think Ive narrowed it down to an 05 or 06 coupe that i want to buy! On the 05 how often am I going to have to replace my brakes? My uncle tells me that on his 03 its every 22500 miles consitently, and that the 05's are better about breaks but not as good as the 06's. He mentioned to me that he cant turn the rotors on his car, they have to be replaced.
Ive narrowed everything down I guess, im just curious on the 05's and 06's and if im going to have to spend $2000 on breaks every year and a half.
Thanks
Eric
