TipTronic Shifting

Hello All-

I'm an owner of a used 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe (Automatic). The question I have is when shifting in TipTronic mode or whatever its called. Shifting is smooth from 1st to 2nd, but shifting from 2nd to 3rd feels a bit harsh. There seems to be a "thunk" between 2nd and 3rd when using TipTronic. Whenever I'm using full automatic then the "thunk" is not there. Shifting from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th is fine...only between 2nd to 3rd.

Because I bought this vehicle used with 38K on it I'm not sure if there was any major service maintenance done to it such as 30K service. Does it just need a tranny flush or is there something more I need to be concerned with? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It's the nature of the transmission. I get that unless i shift in the 4-4.5k range.

I actually get that when I shift between 4K - 5K . Anything lower doesn't make that "thunk".

I get that too the only way I've been able to get around it is when shifting from 2-3 take your foot off the throttle and once the gear is engaged put your foot back on the throttle.
