2005 G35 or 2004 G35 thats the question?

I currently do not own a G35 coupe, but around June or July, I'm planning to purchase an Ivory Pearl with graphite 6-speed. I have a bit of a problem though, and that is that I don't know which one to get, the 2005 model which I'd have to wait for or the 2004 model which I can get for cheaper and earlie .(I'd probably have to wait 5 months for the 2005) I was planning to get the 2004 model until I read one of the forums about the interior LCD changes. I would really appreciate it if I could get an honest oppinion on what you would do. Thanks.

That color you are looking for IP w/ graphite 6 MT isnt easy to come along if i am correct. If you wait until june/july you might end up ordering the car and waiting 3 months, which would be for the 2005. You could get 2005 in september or something. Otherwise you should go order 2004 Right now and it will arrive in june/july when you're ready to buy the car.

The real question is do you want 2004 model right now, which is a great car anyways. Or wait 3 extra months for a car that has some upgrades and a lil more expensive.

Life goes by too fast to wait for a good thing to possibly come your way. I say buy the 2004 NOW. You'll have 5 or 6 more months to enjoy a GREAT car. If you were talking about a week or two, then you'd have a pretty valid reason to wait, but almost 6 months... Live life to the fullest! This car is FANTASTIC, there is not much more they can do to make it that much better w/o adding more money to the sticker price. You've made a good decision by choosing the G35, go test drive one and see if you feel like waiting for 6 more months.

Yeah, IP w/ graphite is one of the rare combos. I was just lucky they had it when I wanted it. If there would be changes for 2005, I'm sure it can't be that radical. It's a high seller why change would they change a lot?

Check out the 2004 thoroughly. Look at the rumored changes and see if you don't really like the parts of the car that they're changing. But if you like it as it is now, get the 2004. Who knows you might not like the change. You might have to order this combo though. Good luck.

Thanks. I was wondering what you guys paid for your cars, that is if it is a 6MT. Also, if you ordered it did you guys end up paying MSRP?

I'd say it would be wiser to wait for the 2005 to come out. What's a few months, especially if you're going to be keeping this car for the long run. If you get the 04 and the 05 comes with changes you wanted, you'll be sorely disappointed. If you wait for the 05, and you don't like it, you can still buy the 04 and it'll probably be cheaper. You'll also have that peace of mind knowing you got what you liked with all choices available.

So there you have it.

I was in the same situation as you are last year, in july I wanted to order my car, I could have gotten a 03, but since the 04 was due out in sept. I waited, ordered the 04, and was able to get the ivory/willow combination that I wanted.

I'm glad I waited only because the 03 would have depreciated right away since the new model was right around the corner.
I'm sure I wouldn't have lost a lot of money, but I was happy to be getting a couple of upgrades with the new model.

If you can wait....do it. Like the others said you may still be able to find your combination in a 04 left over, although I didn't have much of a choice last summer...2old4this
