is this match-up to much for my G...

whats up everyone.... i was recently presented with a race against this sh*t talking kid. he recently purchased a civic coupe with pulleys and a few other minor mods. but he is telling me that he is gonna drop an integra type r engine in it with a turbo...not sure which kind of tur. yet.
i have a stock 6 spd g... working on twin turbo for this summer.... do u think i stand a chance againts this civic with the type r engine... and also with the turbo...
and i plan on racing safely...

Lot of kids love talking. Tell him to come back when he has it dropped and turbo'd. Don't waste ur time. He's running a POS civic .. and you have a G35 coupe. gg.

POS Civic? Have you owned one? How come they have high resale values? yeah yeah, coz one's being stolen every now and then... like my Si. or bcoz of reliability? You see, I had my Si for more'n 4yrs and it had no rattles whatsoever. Firm on bumps, no grinds no loose ends shaking. Smooth climb to 8Krpms everyday no problem. My G? Only a month and some rattling on the dash passenger side (might be elsewhere) on rough roads. I know some ppl here have complained about it too. But that's fine w/ me I still love it. Not all cars are perfect. Same goes for the G.

Re: is this match-up to much for my G...

the g may have a few rattle problems but when it comes down to it we ALL know that a civic is a p.o.s compared to the g. now in other aspects, when it comes to modding, i definitely respect the civic. i dont like it all that much....but i respect it because of its capabilities...... i personally feel i can take this guy with the type r engine..... i doubt with the turbos...but im planning a lil turbo project of my own... so we will c....

any other advice....im all ears people

the b18c5 isnt meant for turbo applications. its better to go n/a.
currently i drive a civic and i only drive it because its low maint and high mpg. other then that its a pos on wheels.

Just remind him how much money he blew to get a civic going fast. Then remind him he has a fast civic. If he doesnt see the humor in any of this, youve already won.

If his car is a true hybrid, they you may be screwed. Especially with turbo. However, the civic is a POS compared to a G. I know because my girlfriend drives a civic (2001) and it rattles EVERYWHERE. You also have to blast the music to hear anything on the highway. Wait till you have turbo before race him

Re: is this match-up to much for my G...

thanx for your replies everyone... i think i should wait for my turbo too. but i know he will get to runnin at the mouth and i will just do it... if i lose it will encourage me to get my twin turbo faster. but i know i can take him with the engine itself..i was just worried about the power to weight ratio...like with the civic hatchbacks with the b18c engines....? as far as pic. go i have to get my cam and find him. i dont see him everyday
but i will get it to you all...real soon

cheesefrog: 1) thanks for jayden and 2) watching that video is horrifying. anyone driving like that in traffic should never be allowed to drive again. i am all for driving fast, but that is so grossly negligent it churns my stomach.

please people. take it to the track.

Re: is this match-up to much for my G...

if the honda engine is naturally aspirated you should have no problems. if he puts a turbo on it, then youre going to have youre hands full. i ran a turbo integra and they have some serious *****.
