explain the rev-up to me...ive searched for awhile but no luck on a full detailed description....its just high compression? im not worried about getting a few ponies less...

interior is definitely a concern...ill have to find some to go sit in again.

But looking at pictures, i just dont see the difference...what are the key differences?

You've hit the nail on the head. Do your searches on all the forums. Just search for Tire feathering or tire wear.

'04 6MT FTW

No rev-up (significantly less odds of oil consumption issue), more torque, Brembos

I never heard about the tire wearing problems with the 03-04's. But it makes sense to me, I go through tires like water.

I think it's funny that 05+ members think the interior is such an improvement over the 03/04. Yes, some materials are better, but overall the 05+ interior is nothing to write home about either. I perticularly don't like the textured look of the entirer dash and steering wheel console nor how far back the gauge clusters are set--it is not in the same focal plane as the road.

Plus, the aluminum on the center console looks like an afterthought and the leather seems to wear just as fast as in the 03/04.

Things I do like are the aluminum pedals, steering wheel and aluminum door inserts. Everything else is a push to me.

so what you're saying is the 05+ are slower then the 03-04 even though it has more horsepower?

I was also deciding wether to get 03-07 also . I ended up getting a 6mt 06' DG coupe w/ sport pckg for 24k with 11,000+ miles. I think the only difference in the revup and nonrevup is if you have the rev-up version you have higher peak HP but lower peak torque, you also can redline higher...I believe at like 7200 rpm or 7000rpm. I also prefered the look of the 06' coupe interior and exterior. The 06 had different head light projectors and different tail-lights. Also the 6mt came with 19" rims and a sport front bumper. I also liked the interior more, it had a clean look to it. The 03'-04' center console looked a bit cheap, like silver plastic, but the 06' had brushed alluminum which looked nice. Also the 06' had the infiniti clock integrated with the ac display, the o3' had the clock sitting under it. Also I think the 03' has less seat controls then the 06'. ALso if you dont want to mod your car, then the 06' will probably have alot more miles or time left on the factory warrenty.

The oil consumption problem is not for all 06's. I got my vin number checked and mine didnt fall under that issue. So dont say 05'+ because i dont know if its all 05's but its not all 06's. Even if they find the problem you get a new tranny out of it.

03-04 interior is nice as long as you get the black with silver accents. I dont like the way the other interior color looks.
I doubt the 03-04 had any major engine problems since Nissan has used the same VQ35 since the 02 Maxima (With a few small changes for more power of course)

I love the front end on the 06-07

06 because its easier to add brembos than to change the interior, bumper, headlights, and tailights

I thought the rev-up engines actually lost some torque over the 03-04 models.

I know of no problems with the 03-04 engines........

It has to do with the brake pads, not the car.
