NISMO exhaust installed- initial thoughts
NISMO exhaust installed- initial thoughts
Well, finally bit the bullet and went to Perf. Nissan and got the Nismo exhaust installed on my coupe. Thanks to Jason for warning me about the exhaust tips sticking out less than the stock tips. Didn't bother me that much, but I would've preferred having them stick out more.
Anyways, initial thoughts- it's pretty freakin loud. Louder than I thought it would be... and it makes these popping noises which kinda bug me(which I found out later is normal for more free-flowing exhausts). I'm HOPING that after a week or so that the noise level will die down a bit, and the popping will go away, but I always hope for the best and assume the worst. I may swap the muffler back to stock and sell it if the sound stays the same... (anyone interested in buying it if i do?)
Butt dyno can feel a difference though. Can't complain about that. Anyone else here have this exhaust? Any advice/comments?
Thanks!

Not likely I'm afraid. I don't know about the Nismo specifically, but I think many exhausts have some kind of packing or insulation or something in them that goes away over time. If anything, it will probably get louder. Maybe not in a week, but over the course of several months.

Re: NISMO exhaust installed- initial thoughts
Trust me, get the Fujitsubo exhaust instead! Although they look very similar the Fujitsubo isn't as loud as the Nismo. I have the Fujitsubo on my car, if you want to hear what it sounds like feel free to drop by Orange County and I'll let you hear it on the car.

Damn, exhaust note sounds good to me. But from the pics, that tip looks too short. They should stick out more.

Now....If u can live with short length of 350Z exhaust then u can order from any websites that sells Nismo parts. If u don't like the short length... then Fujitsubo exhaust is probably better choice but they tend to have bigger tips though...
