Well back in the day it was called "Shaving!"

HAHA....Haven't heard that term for the last few years. In todays world it's
called "Debadging." Try doing a search under debadging, it's easy and most
of us are experts.... After you've completed this mod you too
will be an expert, I promise!

heat it up with a hair dryer, use fishing line to slide behind the letters, then wd40 and more hair dryer to loosen up the adhesive.. took me a while, but maybe i did it wrong.. came out alright though

+1 on Goo Gone actually. I've never used WD-40 for debadging but heard it works I guess. Rubbing compound is good too, or scratch remover (same thing).

There was a thread either here or at 6MT that a guy was upset that Goo Gone left stains on his paint that won't come off.

I used WD-40 on the dealer decal that I removed. Worked great and followed up with wax.

Here is a link to the Goo Gone gone wrong.

Shaving to me is when you have to do body work to fill in the area such as shaved door handles or shaved gas door.

its easy to do. Like the others said, just head it up, then slowly peel it away with fish line or an old credit card. I 'shaved' everything but the Mt.Fuji emblem, but I took it off to paint it, and its starting to peel on me now.

So looks like I'll be completely debadging it soon.

GooGone works as does WD-40 for removal of the glue. Followed by ScratchX
and then your choice of polishes, but never....ever use rubbing compound
on our paint. You'll have scratchs that only a high speed buffer will remove,
just bad (noob) advice....
